Cooperation Agreement: BOI entered into MIGA's
FDIXchange
Multilateral Investment Guarantee
Agency (MIGA) a multilateral development agency
and member of the World Bank Group has come to
an agreement of cooperation with Board of Investment
(BOI) on Internet-based information dissemination
efforts with the objective attracting and facilitating
foreign direct investment into Bangladesh.
BOI will provide investment information
content to MIGA for distribution to potential
investors via it's "FDI Xchange" and
other online services, the full text of which
will be hosted on the BOI's website.
Using MIGA's FDIXchange potential
investors can have information on private participation
in infrastructure and project finance, privatization
tenders, opportunities to invest in new or existing
private ventures, sectoral profiles, strategic
alliances. The interested investors would also
get information on FDI and business guides, macroeconomic
data, operational cost factors, privatization
statistical data, FDI trends, market research,
and privatization program of the Bangladesh. MIGA's
online content also includes business law overviews,
foreign investment laws, information on incentives,
sectoral laws, political framework, Trade agreements
etc.
Under the MIGA co-operation agreement
with BOI, potential investors can receive personalized
e-mail update containing new opportunities and
business information relevant to their interest
simply by completing an online profile.
As the outcome of this cooperation
agreement with MIGA, BOI's client group will have
relevant and timely information into the right
hand. Through the use of such powerful, low-cost
communication tool, both BOI as well as potential
investors will be benefited by extending their
marketing reach and deliver a customized message
to prospective foreign investors. With this free
access to timely and reliable information potential
investors can reduce uncertainties in the decision-making

Under the agreement MIGA will
also assists BOI to develop it's state of art,
information system and exchange.
