The Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company, the largest single direct investment project in Bangladesh, is the result of a joint initiative between the government and foreign private investors who identified an opportunity to add value to local raw materials and capitalise on the country’s geographical location.

The project, of a scale never previously attempted in Bangladesh, experienced a few early teething problems but has now established a reputation for producing a world-class product and exports granulated urea to countries all over the world. We are proud of the success of KAFCO and believe it represents an outstanding example of the success that can be achieved by investors in Bangladesh.
